Bloor Yonge Capacity Improvements

Client: Toronto Transit Commission (TTC)

Kenaidan Murphy, alongside lead design partner, Arup, and the TTC, has been awarded the Development Phase of the Bloor Yonge Capacity Improvements Project in Downtown Toronto.

As one of the busiest transit hubs in the Greater Toronto Area, the station is expected to experience a surge in passenger traffic in the coming years. This project is crucial to ensuring that the station can accommodate Toronto’s ongoing growth, urban development and expanded transit network.

A part of a progressive contract, Kenaidan Murphy is currently undertaking a Development Phase, during which the team will work collaboratively with the TTC and Arup to develop a design, schedule, and target price proposal for the construction of the project.

Acceptance of the target price will lead to the Construction Phase, which will see customers benefit from:

· A new Line 2 eastbound passenger platform

· Reconfigured Line 2 westbound passenger platform

· Expanded Line 1 northbound and southbound passenger platforms

· A new accessible entrance on the south side of Bloor StreetEast

· Improved vertical circulation

· New mechanical and electrical facilities and ventilation systems
