The partnership between Surerus Pipeline Inc. and Murphy, brings together over 100 years of combined pipeline construction experience. Located in Calgary, Alberta, Surerus Murphy (SMJV) delivers experience and innovative solutions to large diameter pipeline projects with strength in facility construction, integrity programs and early engagement project development.

Recent SMJV projects include the construction of a 7.3km, 48-inch diameter natural gas pipeline project near Lundbreck, Alberta, Canada for TC Energy’s NGTL pipeline system. The project’s rural, mountainous location presented numerous challenges, including rock blasting, steep slopes and wildlife considerations. Other activities included establishing access roads, installing fencing and signage, and ongoing stripping and grading work. Once completed, the project site will be restored to its natural state, resembling the natural beauty of the surrounding landscape. Surerus Murphy is also involved in additional NGTL projects in northern Alberta, northern B.C. and southern B.C.
