This Kenaidan led design-build project, provides a parking structure, two expanded train platforms to accommodate 12-car trains, and a new fully-accessible station building with an improved and more convenient layout for GO patrons.
The project involved utility and road realignment in the ROW and constructing a 6.5-km-long, twin-bored tunnel running beneath Eglinton Avenue from Black Creek Station to Yonge Street Station in Toronto.
This flagship station, designed to Metrolinx’s industry-leading standard, incorporates public spaces into the commuter station. The station includes an integrated three-storey, cast-in-place concrete, post-tensioned parking structure to accommodate 760 vehicles.
The new West Harbour GO Station serves as a multimodal transit hub for Hamilton and the surrounding area. Designed as a landmark and urban gateway to the community, it was the main station for the 2015 Pan Am Games in Hamilton.
